This was no easy feat, as the Internation Mathematical Olympiad—an annual World Championship Mathematics Competition hosted by the Science Olympiad Foundation—is well known to be one of the most prestigious mathematical championships in the world. The competition is fierce too with around 100 participating countries. Questions can cover algebraic inequalities, construction-oriented geometrical problems, and sometimes even branches of mathematics not conventionally covered at a secondary or university level. The solutions are often elementary but are disguised as difficult, and therefore require a level of knowledge and ingenuity to solve. Not only that, but calculators are also not allowed in the tests, upping the difficulty level once more.
Our warmest congratulations once again to our young winners, and we hope that this experience will allow their love for mathematics to continue to grow and flourish.
