As a school, it means the world to us when we see our students actively giving back to society. Our high school students spread love and positivity at a local old folks’ home last week, brightening the residents’ day with donations and cheery conversations.
We curated a gift pack for each of the residents in the old folks’ home, stuffing them to the brim with food, daily essentials, and other goodies. The most important aspect for this gift pack was ensuring that the items would be of use to the old folks. We loved seeing the smiles that lit up on the faces of the recipients as they received the gift pack with open arms.
As our students milled around the old folks’ home to distribute the hampers, they took this chance to engage with the residents. Through many stimulating conversations, we were able to peek into the history of each individual living there—each with a story to tell.
Other than enthusiastic small talks with the residents, our students also prepared a small performance for the old folks’ home. They were met with applause and smiles of approval after the performance was done. Well done to our DIMENSIONS students for their enthusiasm and thank you to Tai Pei Old People’s Home for hosting us.
