Programme Introduction

Do you aspire to be a part of a network of established professionals and at the same time, garner a holistic perspective of the dynamic business sector? The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is distinctively designed to equip students with a proficient level of business management skills, knowledge, insights and critical thinking abilities. In addition, this course is particularly tailored for management graduates or executives of any field holding a senior position.

Conducted at DIMENSIONS International College, this programme requires students to complete 8 modules inclusive of 7 core modules and an elective module, enabling students to develop their knowledge and skills in the areas of leadership, marketing, finance, human resource management, business strategy, research methodology and so forth. This MBA programme also offers several specialist pathways for students wishing to customise their own MBA with a choice specialism to match their career goals, and these include: International Business, Project Management, Service Management and International Marketing.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded the Master of Business Administration by the University of Chester, UK. This qualification opens new avenues to senior management positions ranging from marketing manager, sales manager to human resource specialist. On the other hand, graduates may kick-start their own businesses and consider entrepreneurship as yet another prospective career alternative.

Choice of Specialisms
Where a student is registered to a specialist pathway, the following criteria will need to be addressed:

  • Specialisms (International Business/ Project Management/ Service Management/ International Marketing) will need to be decided at the commencement of the programme.
  • #The research topics that students undertake for Preparing for Research Consultancy and Management Research in Action must be aligned with the chosen specialism.

The chosen specialist pathway will be reflected on the transcript (if applicable). All specialist modules will still lead to the award of a general MBA qualification if the above caveats have not been met.

Duration

The course duration is 12 months Institutional Training.

Maximum allowed period for a student to complete the course is 36 months, subject to approval from the University of Chester, UK.

Maximum Candidature Period

Student is not allowed to retake the course and/or request for a refund in the event if he/she fails to complete the programme within the maximum candidature period.

Entry Requirements

Academic Level: An honour degree or professional qualification from recognised institution or equivalent qualification plus two years working at supervisory level. Applicants with less or without working experience may be considered under exceptional circumstances. Mature candidates without degree qualification but with significant management experience may be considered on a case-to-case basis.

English Proficiency: At least IELTS 6.5 or CAE Level 6 or pass the English Proficiency Test at equivalent level conducted by DIMENSIONS or first degree completed in English or a “Pass” with at least “C” grade for English Language at GCE O-Level or its equivalent.

Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 11.30am and/or 12.15pm - 3.15pm and/or 3.30pm - 6.30pm

100% Coursework with exception of the following module:

Grading Criteria

The grading criteria is based on the University’s Generic Marking Criteria in 10 classifications to evaluate a student’s Knowledge and Understanding, Intellectual / Cognitive Skills, Practical Skills and Transferable / Key Skills in term of percentage

Not more than 3 months after the final assessment.

Note: The number of students in the classroom is subject to the maximum seating capacity.

Note 1: International Student must achieve at least 90% attendance rate (ICA Requirement).
Note 2: International Student must not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reason (ICA Requirement).
Note 3: Students who do not require ICA’s student’s pass must achieve at least 80% attendance rate.Our College only accept medical certificates as proof for absenteeism. Any other documents should only be accepted on a case-by-case basis with full justification and be acceptable by ICA.
Note 4: In the first week of studies, an induction session will be conducted. The students will be briefed by the Academic Staff on full details of the course including scheme of work, timetable, assessments and grading, assessment and exam dates and venue and many other academic matters.
Note 5: DIMENSIONS has the right to cancel a class/an intake if the minimum number of students enrolled is less than 10 for any programme per class. Students may enroll into a later intake, if any, or withdraw from course. (For refund, please refer to our Refund Policy).
Note 6: Students (both international and local) must achieve an attendance rate of 80% and above in order to qualify for examinations.
