Programme Introduction
The Foundation Diploma in Business programme is designed to provide students with the basic principles and understanding of business. By the end of this course, students will have the fundamental knowledge in relation to the economic factors affecting the business environment, concepts of management, accounting, marketing, and business English writing as well as the computer skills supporting business organisations.
The 6-month course equips the targeted group of learners with the essential study skills in order to cope with the subject requirements and challenges while pursuing a higher education qualification.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded the Foundation Diploma in Business by DIMENSIONS International College.

Foundation Diploma in Business consists of 6 modules.
Course Outline
- Outline for Induction of EconomicsThis module introduces learners a range of business activities and aims to develop students’ basic economic concept, principles and theories in support of effective business decision in competitive environment surrounding enterprises.
- Outline for Induction to Organisational BehaviourThis module aims to develop students’ understanding of the behaviour and characteristic of people working within organizations and how these behaviour impact on the norm, culture and productivity of business organisations.
- Outline for Introduction to AccountingThe module equips students with knowledge of the essential accounting concepts, theories and systems of preparing and generating related financial statements. Successful students will be able to interpret and analyse the essential account and financial data, the financial health such as the liquidity, solvency and profitability of the company, and information supporting day-to-day business operation and decision.
- Outline for Basic Computer Operation and ApplicationsThis module aims to develop students’ understanding of the computer hardware, components and application software commonly used, and explores how the computer, system and tools support operation and generate information for business decision making.
- Outline for English for Academic PurposeThis module intends to enrich students in English grammar, sentence structure, style and proper vocabularies so as to prepare to write English for business communication purpose at elementary level. Students will be motivated to write and present descent business English in the course.
- Outline for Introduction to MarketingThe aim of this module is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills relating to the fundamental concepts and principles that underpin the marketing process and activities in business organisations.

Duration
6 months of Institutional Training with the schedule and session sequence set according to the Scheme of Work
Maximum allowed period for a student to complete the course is 12 months
Maximum Candidature Period
Student is not allowed to retake the course and/or request for a refund in the event if he/she fails to complete the programme within the maximum candidature period.
Opportunities for Further Education/Career Pathway
This foundation programme is intended for study advancement whereby students can further their undergraduate studies in business-related degree programmes
Notes:
- Graduates progression pathway is subject to the respective Institutions’/Universities’ entry requirements at the point of application.
- Foreigner’s application for jobs in Singapore is subject to the approval from the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore (MOM). DIMENSIONS DOES NOT GUARANTEE any success rate of approval.
Entry Requirements
Academic Level:
- Local students : GCE ‘O’ level with at least 1 subject pass or other Level 2 qualification.
- International students: Equivalent to Year 10 from the respective home country of the applicant. Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on case-by-case basis.
English Proficiency : At least IELTS 5.0 or CAE Level 4 or pass the English Proficiency Test at equivalent level conducted by DIMENSIONS. English proficiency may be considered to have been met and an IELTS score may not be required if applicant possesses a highest qualification where English was the sole medium of instruction.

Full-time
Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 11.30am and/or 12.15pm - 3.15pm and/or 3.30pm - 6.30pm
3 hours per session. All specific programme schedules will be reflected in the timetable.

Note:
All students will only be given 2 referral assessments, and no further referral assessment is permitted if they have maximised the number of attempts allowed. If students do not pass the module during the referral assessment attempts, they will not qualify for the full award and will only be eligible to exit the programme with a Certificate only if they pass 4 modules. Alternatively, students can opt to retake the module with the payment of retake fee per module of S$ 1,635.00 (inclusive of 9% GST) to try to achieve the full award.

Note: The number of students in the classroom is subject to the maximum seating capacity.
Note 1: | International Student must achieve at least 90% attendance rate (ICA Requirement). |
Note 2: | International Student must not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reason (ICA Requirement). |
Note 3: | Students who do not require ICA’s student’s pass must achieve at least 80% attendance rate.Our College only accept medical certificates as proof for absenteeism. Any other documents should only be accepted on a case-by-case basis with full justification and be acceptable by ICA. |
Note 4: | In the first week of studies, an induction session will be conducted. The students will be briefed by the Academic Staff on full details of the course including scheme of work, timetable, assessments and grading, assessment and exam dates and venue and many other academic matters. |
Note 5: | DIMENSIONS has the right to cancel a class/an intake if the minimum number of students enrolled is less than 10 for any programme per class. Students may enroll into a later intake, if any, or withdraw from course. (For refund, please refer to our Refund Policy). |
Note 6: | Students (both international and local) must achieve an attendance rate of 80% and above in order to qualify for examinations. |
