Programme Introduction
Besides being ranked as the No.1 Logistics Hub in Asia in the 2014 Logistics Performance Index by the World Bank Group (WBG), Singapore is also widely known as a world-leading logistics and commodity trading hub which facilitates the transportation of goods by air, sea and land. With 20 of the world’s top 25 logistics players having a strong and dominant presence in our cosmopolitan city-state, it is no surprise that many local employers are on the lookout for candidates who possess the specialised skills to streamline day-to-day business operations in the logistics sector.
Conducted at DIMENSIONS International College, the Diploma in Logistics Management programme provides learners with an understanding of the process of planning, implementing and controlling the efficient and effective flow and storage of goods, services and related information from point of origin to point of consumption, for the purpose of conforming to the requirements made by customers.
All learners are required to complete six (6) months of Institutional Training and another six (6) months of Industrial Attachment* endorsed by Singapore Institute of Purchasing & Materials Management (SIPMM). Upon successful completion of the programme, qualified students will be awarded the Diploma in Logistics Management by DIMENSIONS International College.

- International students who have successfully completed their educational qualification which is equivalent to Year 12 in their respective home countries and are interested in understanding the principles of logistics and warehouse management.
- Existing materials and logistics executives who desire to hone their skills and deepen their expertise in the field of logistics operations and management.
Course Structure
Diploma in Logistics Management consists of 7 modules.
Course Outline
- Outline for Principles of Logistics ManagementThe aim of this module is to provide the students an understanding of the process of planning, implementing and controlling the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services and related information from point of origin to point of consumption, for the purpose of conforming to the customer requirements. Students will also understand how each function or activity need to be understood in terms of how they affect and are affected by other activities.
- Outline for Warehousing ManagementThe module introduces the operations in the warehouse and the basic concept of managing the activities related to warehousing and storage, including materials tracking and control, space and layout of warehouse planning, to maximise productivity and minimise costs.
- Outline for Purchasing ManagementThe module aims to equip students with essential techniques and knowledge of managing purchasing, including vendor analysis, inventory control and legal considerations of purchasing.
The purpose of this management is to critically evaluate the benefit given by supplier and to further improve the relations with the suppliers and develop new suppliers. - Outline for Introduction to Material Resource PlanningThis module aims to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of MRP and use in the business. The student will be able to identify and evaluate the planning process, benefits and implications of MRP within a manufacturing environment for an effective supply chain and to develop performance measures in the process.
- Outline for Management Information SystemThis module investigates the information and knowledge and examines how communications, knowledge and information can be improved within an organisation including making better use of IT systems.
- Outline for Physical Distribution ManagementThe module aims to enable students to understand the distribution networking system and the different channels of distributing both consumer and industrial goods. Students are also expected to analyse the market demand and supply and plan for best way and sites of distribution.
- Outline for Internship / Industrial Attachment*The aim of this module is to enrich trainees’ learning experience and serves the important component of the course with the intent to enhance and consolidate their knowledge and skills acquired by participating in the Industrial Attachment* lasting for 6 months arranged by the school.

- Internship / IA posting is not guaranteed and will be subject to the approval of relevant passes by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). No further Internship / IA posting will be arranged if a student withdraws or is terminated from the IA centre.
- Students who fail to secure an IA will have to successfully complete a Research Project.
- Qualified students who have secured an Internship / Industrial Attachment (IA) with an organisation will have to successfully complete the IA. Students who withdraw or are terminated from the IA centre will result in a failed IA module. In order for students to graduate from this programme, students are required to retake the module in the form of a Research Project. Students are also required to pay a re-take fee for the module as well as the fee for the extension of the Student’s Pass

Maximum allowed period for a student to complete the course is 12 months of Institutional Training excluding Industrial Attachment (IA) period
Maximum Candidature Period
Student is not allowed to retake the course and/or request for a refund in the event if he/she fails to complete the programme within the maximum candidature period.Opportunities for Further Education/Career Pathway
Students may consider pursuing an Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management awarded by DIMENSIONS International College.

Entry Requirements
Academic Level: Equivalent to Year 12 from the respective home country of the applicant
Note: Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis
English Proficiency : At least IELTS 5.5 or DIMENSIONS CAE Level 4 or Pass the English Proficiency Test at equivalent level conducted by DIMENSIONS or its equivalent. English proficiency may be considered to have been met and an IELTS score may not be required if applicant possesses a highest qualification where English is the sole medium of instruction

Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 11.30am and/or 12.15pm - 3.15pm and/or 3.30pm - 6.30pm

Students who have passed all the theoretical modules under the institutional training but fail in Industrial Attachment/Research Project can only be entitled to award the Certificate in Logistics Management.

Average teacher-student ratio is 1:35
Note: The number of students in the classroom is subject to the maximum seating capacity.
Note 1: | International Student must achieve at least 90% attendance rate (ICA Requirement). |
Note 2: | International Student must not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reason (ICA Requirement). |
Note 3: | Students who do not require ICA’s student’s pass must achieve at least 80% attendance rate.Our College only accept medical certificates as proof for absenteeism. Any other documents should only be accepted on a case-by-case basis with full justification and be acceptable by ICA. |
Note 4: | In the first week of studies, an induction session will be conducted. The students will be briefed by the Academic Staff on full details of the course including scheme of work, timetable, assessments and grading, assessment and exam dates and venue and many other academic matters. |
Note 5: | DIMENSIONS has the right to cancel a class/an intake if the minimum number of students enrolled is less than 10 for any programme per class. Students may enroll into a later intake, if any, or withdraw from course. (For refund, please refer to our Refund Policy). |
Note 6: | Students (both international and local) must achieve an attendance rate of 80% and above in order to qualify for examinations. |
