Compulsory Subjects

• Outline for General Paper (H1)

  
  This subject aims to enable students to understand better the world in which they live by fostering a critical awareness of continuity and change in the human experience. By the end of the course, students are expected to
  demonstrate their understanding of the nature of knowledge by appreciating the inter-relationship of ideas from across disciplines and their skills of critical thinking, evaluation of argument and effective communication.
  

• Outline for Mathematics (H2)

  
  This subject aims to enable students to acquire the necessary mathematical concepts and skills for everyday life, and for continuous learning in Mathematics and related disciplines; and to develop the necessary process skills for the acquisition and application of mathematical concepts and skills. It is also intended to develop students’ logical thinking and problem solving skills and apply these skills to solve problems in different areas.

  This subject builds on the content coverage at GCE O-Level. It aims to consolidate and broaden students’ understanding and knowledge in physics. It strives to provide a worthwhile educational experience to students and to develop their ability and skills that are relevant to study and practice of science useful in everyday life. It is also intended to develop students’ attitude to appreciate objectivity, integrity, accuracy and inventiveness and the awareness of cooperative and cumulative effort in scientific study.

  Outline for Economics (H2)

• 
  This subject builds on the content coverage at GCE O-Level. It is intended to prepare students with broader base of practical chemistry and particularly to develop their appreciation of the finite life of the world’s resources and
  hence the need for recycling and conservation. Students are expected to show economic consideration and concern about the social, environmental, health and safety issues relating to the chemical industry; meanwhile, to recognize the usefulness and limitation of scientific method.

  This subject is intended to provide the basis for a broad understanding of economics and specifically to develop students’ understanding of fundamental economic principles, theories and concepts. Besides, it aims to develop their ability to use the tools of economic reasoning to explain, analyse and resolve economic issues, and evaluate policy decisions.

  Outline for Principles of Accounting (H2)

• 
  The General Studies in Chinese curriculum focuses primarily on the subject matters encompassing political, economic, cultural, education and social affairs. The well rounded syllabus is particularly designed to hone students’ critical and analytical thinking abilities, elevating their awareness in local and international current affairs. On the other hand, the syllabus enables students to explore the Chinese culture and values, allowing them to acquire an earnest appreciation and understanding of the Chinese traditions.
  

  Outline for Chinese Language & Literature (H2)

  
  This subject is aims to provide students with a foundation course in accounting at a breadth and depth appropriate to the A-level. It is intended provide students with a sound understanding financial and managerial accounting procedures and an appreciation of its role in the society. Upon completion, students will have developed the understanding of the concepts, principles and practices of the accounting and the ability to apply them in a variety of business and personal situations.

Maximum allowed period for a student to complete the course is subject to MOE’s regulation

Maximum Candidature Period

Student is not allowed to retake the course and/or request for a refund in the event if he/she fails to complete the programme within the maximum candidature period.

Opportunities for Further Education/Career Pathway

Student may apply to enroll into local universities or further studies in overseas universities.

• Graduates progression pathway is subject to the respective Institutions’/Universities’ entry requirements at the point of application.
• Foreigner’s application for jobs in Singapore is subject to the approval from the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore (MOM). DIMENSIONS DOES NOT GUARANTEE any success rate of approval.

Entry Requirements

Age: At least 17 years old as at 1st January of the Examination year.

Academic Level: Minimum Completion of GCE O-Level or Senior Middle 2 with a pass in English subject in applicant’s home country or other equivalent qualifications required by MOE, Singapore.

Class Periods

Monday to Friday:
9.15am – 12.30pm and 1.45pm – 5.30pm (Full Day)

At least 3.25 hours per session, average of 7 hours per school day (Inclusive of tutorial), 10 sessions per week
(Total: At least 35 hours per week)

Examination Period

• March: Registration for examinations
• May: Chinese written examinationn
• July: Chinese listening comprehension and oral exam
• October/November: Science Practical examination
• November /December: other subjects written examination

Expected Examination Results Release Date

Feb/March of the following year after the final assessment

Qualification Award

Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level awarded by Ministry of Education, Singapore and Cambridge Assessment International Education

Graduation Requirements

Pass at least one (1) subject with credit level to be issued a certificate
