Attention all Cricket lovers! We have opened a new cricket ground at the Main Campus (Kovan) just for you to enjoy. No more hunting for a field only to have it occupied by another group. Now, you get to play your favourite sport whenever you want.

For the uninitiated, Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of 11. It is usually played on a 20-metre field with a wicket on each end. Each side will take turns batting and bowling (pitching) during each innings. The bowlers will try to break the wickets, while the batters will hit the ball away from the wicket, gaining themselves time to run to the opposite wicket. Each time both batters on one team reach the opposite wicket, they score one run. The goal is to achieve the most runs.

Cricket finds its origins in England from as early as the 13th century, played by children who lived in densely wooded areas. Its first bat was shaped like a hockey stick, before going through many iterations to get the shortened handle, straightened and broadened blade of the modern bat.

So, if you need a way to unwind or decompress, feel free to make use of the cricket ground, or even watch an exciting match between your schoolmates. It does not boast the title of the second most popular spectator sport for no reason.
