Dr Samuel Gan is the founding Chief Editor of the first specialized open access SpringerOpen journal "Scientific Phone Apps and Mobile Devices" and a pioneer in the area. Not only is he the group leader of the Antibody and Product Development (APD) Lab (joint lab of the Bioinformatics Institute and the p53 Laboratory, A*STAR Singapore), but also he is currently an associate lecturer at the School of Psychology of James Cook University, Singapore, and School of Science & Technology, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Before working his humble way up as the Chief Editor, Dr Samuel Gan taught in King’s College London (KCL), Temasek Polytechnic (TP), and University of Wollongong-Singapore Institute of Management (SIM). His APD lab currently performs research in multiple areas from antibody engineering, product development, virology, mobile device development, smartphone apps, psychology, to complexity sciences.
Given his pool of knowledge, well-trained skills and exceptional aptitude across a wide array of disciplines such as biomedical sciences (TP-SGP, UCL-UK, KCL-UK, BBK-UK), translation & interpretation (TP-SGP), psychology (OU-UK), higher education (KCL-UK), theology (KCL-UK, CLBS-SGP, GBI-SGP, FEBC-SGP), business admin (OU-UK), complexity science (SFI-USA), and commercial law & tech transfer (TP-SGP), he was listed as one of the fifty skilled talent alumni from technical tertiary education in the SG50 book “A Nation of Skilled Talents”. Aside from his remarkable achievement, Dr Samuel Gan is an associate of King’s College, member of the Higher Education Academy UK, the British Psychological Society, Biochemical Society UK, and Allergy & Clinical Immunology Society, Singapore.
