Overview
The Preparatory Course is designed to prepare international students to sit for the AEIS Test for admission into Singapore Government Secondary School. International students seeking admission to a Government School must take the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) Test conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE). The AEIS Test will involve a centralised test on English and Mathematics and is held in September / October of each year. The Ministry of Education will assign international students who are successful in the AEIS Test to join a Government School in January on the following year.

The Secondary education in Singapore is a 4-year course (Express Course/Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level) and a 5-year course (Normal Academic Course). Students from the Express Course will sit for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level at the end of the 4th year. For students from Normal Academic Course, they will sit for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE N-Level at the end of the 4th year and Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level at the end of 5th year.

International students who missed or failed the AEIS Test may sit for the Supplementary Admission Exercise for International Students (S-AEIS) Test in February / March of each year. From 2013 onwards, the S-AEIS will be for admission to the Primary 2 to Primary 4 and Secondary 1 to Secondary 2 levels only. There will be no admission to the Primary 5 and Secondary 3 levels under the S-AEIS.

Applicants who have taken part in AEIS Test previously and were unsuccessful may apply to take AEIS Test again at the same or higher level, subject to MOE Terms and Conditions.
